Chhattisgarh has highest Maoist violence in 2020 : NCRB

According to recent data revealed by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) the state of Chhattisgarh shows highest amount of Maoist killings. Out of 74 killings, 62 of the killings by Maoists were reported in Chhattisgarh. The stae recorded the highest number of deaths and damage, according to NCRB, a data that came out on Tuesday. The state also shows a high rate of loot, arson by Maoists, very higher to states like Jharkhand and Maharashtra.

It is in Chhattisgarh, that the most deaths of police personnel occurred in the counter insurgency operations, according to the study. By the lines of NCRB, 533 cases were registered against Maoists in eight states, and Chhattisgarh had 296 of the total, though the number was at 310 in the previous year, 2019. 14 districts in the state are considered Maoist affected. The Bastar division spread across 39,117 square kilometer, and is considered one of the most Maoist affected regions in the country. Over 200,000 people, including women and children comprise the cadre of the CPI (Maoist), called the Sangham Sadasya (foot soldiers).

In english, this movie title means ‘The engagement is on monday’.  There is no surprise in the plot line; all of it is revealed in the title.  The story is about the making of an engagement and the joys and troubles involved.  Senna Hegde pulls off a regular story with exceptional craft. The highlight of the film is its climax.  The climax offers no pomp and show, no tearful departures, no melodramatic breakdowns, no revolutions, no rebellions, no glamour, not even the promised engagement.This film is a must watch not because it is extraordinary, but because it is very ordinary, and the brilliance is entirely in the balance the filmmaker maintained throughout.
