HORSE RACING : 2nd DAY OF HYDERABAD WINTER MEETING

2nd Day of Hyderabad winter meeting is having very interesting set of runners. Ofcourse some of the big names are running. But future big name makers are on display today too.

Race 1

With an above class effort from Aerial Combat last time ,its trainer has made sure that he has bought down the ratings of the animal to get 2 wins on trot ,but my eyes are set on Tomorrow’s Dreams as this Phenoix tower gelding has been working well and clearly has class to take on Akshay’s horse. Place efforts can be fullfilled by top weighted Angel Tesoro.

Race 2

Although Lamha is unbeaten in this distance ,there will be lot of support for Summer Night and Ashwa Roudee. Class wise former holds an edge. Painted Apache might find this distance a bit sharp

Race 3

I would be surprised of any animal other than 2 four year old horses from Bangalore and Mumbai win this, and Bloom buddy owner has high regards towards this horse and got it Hyderabad. The only back drop of Intense Approach is that its running after a long time after it got injured ,

Race 4

Xfinity has so much left in tank and its draw and running style says “I am going start to finish, catch me if you can” Menilly needs this run badly , Trump star is next best , Amyra although has weight advantage will find it tough to reverse placing with Trump Star and Xfinity.

Race 5

When handicapper likes a Star horse full of class to keep on winning, then he gives a rise of 25 points for its 3 wins, This race is going Ashwa Bravo’s way , 2nd will end up going Corfe Castle’s way, people who believe in Smashing Blue will have to wait for some more days.

Race 6

“Philanthropist is running for the first time” -reading this will make you stop thinking about this horse , but it will be a great surprise to its owners and breeders to see this animal not on board on its first run. Full of class for this distance and well prepared with 2 mock races. Also same owners Country of Savoy lacks race time.

SATIRE DRIVEN, NON-MELODRAMATIC, FOCUSED, AND METICULOUSLY SCRIPTED; THIS MOVIE IS A WINNER THROUGH AND THROUGH!

How can one dislike a film that entertains throughout? In english, this movie title means ‘The engagement is on monday’.  There is no surprise in the plot line; all of it is revealed in the title.  The story is about the making of an engagement and the joys and troubles involved.  Senna Hegde pulls off a regular story with exceptional craft. The highlight of the film is its climax.  The climax offers no pomp and show, no tearful departures, no melodramatic breakdowns, no revolutions, no rebellions, no glamour, not even the promised engagement. This film is a must watch not because it is extraordinary, but because it is very ordinary, and the brilliance is entirely in the balance the filmmaker maintained throughout.

KURUP|MALAYALAM MOVIE| REVIEW|
KURUP, THE MOVIE; DULQUER’S ATTEMPT TO CONQUER CINEMASCOPE FILMMAKING LEAVES AUDIENCES EMOTIONLESS

THIS PERIOD MOVIE COMES WITH COMPLETE GRANDEUR; GRAND SETS, STYLE, A GOOD CAST, LEAVES NO STONE UNTURNED IN PRODUCTION, BUT FAILS IN ITS EDITING AND COMPOSITION. DQ DOES NOT BECOME KURUP, KURUP BECOMES DQ.

Dulquer remains Dulquer, we recognize him and his methods in all his movies and he repeats himself once again.  The actor lacks gravitas in his dialogue delivery and intonation.  Can style and glamour make up for lack of method acting in a role like this?  Did we expect more?
