INDIA CHAIRS NSA MEET ON AFGHANISTAN WITH DIPLOMATS FROM CENTRAL ASIA AND RUSSIA

India, on Wednesday, hosted the much-awaited dialogue on Afghanistan with diplomats and foreign affairs officials from all central asian countries and RRussia. India’s meeting will be followed by a similar meeting in Pakistan which will be attended by USA and China. The Delhi Regional Security Dialogue started off with Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor to the country addressing the gathering which had ​​National Security Advisers/Secretaries Admiral Ali Shamkhani (Iran), Nikolai P Patrushev (Russia), Karim Massimov (Kazakhstan), Marat Mukanovich Imankulov (Kyrgyzstan), Nasrullo Rahmatjon Mahmudzoda (Tajikistan), Charymyrat Kakalyyevvich Amavov (Turkmenistan) and Victor Makhmudov (Uzbekistan). Pakistan and China, two key players in the Afghanistan row did not attend the meet called by India which is a first-of-its-kind conversation as it is the highest number of big and small countries taking part to talk on the issue. It was Iran that hosted a similar meeting with the neighbors of Afghanistan. 

 

Ajit Doval said the meeting calls for ‘greater cooperation and interaction’ to help the ‘collective security’ for the Afghan people and the country’s neighbors. “It is a privilege for India to host this dialogue today. We have been keenly watching the developments in Afghanistan. These have important implications not only for the people of Afghanistan but also for its neighbors and the region,” Doval said at the dialogue. “We are meeting today to discuss matters related to Afghanistan. We all have been keenly watching the developments in that country. These have important implications not only for the people of Afghanistan, but also for its neighbors and the region. This is the time for close consultation amongst us, greater cooperation and interaction and coordination among the regional countries,” he added. 

 

When Iran emphasized an inclusive government that welcomes all ethnic groups in the country to solve the migration crisis, the Chairman of Kazakhstan said that they’re concerned about the social and economic situation of the country. Advisor to Tajikistan said the country was willing to help Afghanistan and its people in any way. Kyrgyzstan emphasizes that the situation in the region was difficult due to terrorist organisations from Afghanistan.

The highlight of the film is its climax.  The climax offers no pomp and show, no tearful departures, no melodramatic breakdowns, no revolutions, no rebellions, no glamour, not even the promised engagement.This film is a must watch not because it is extraordinary, but because it is very ordinary, and the brilliance is entirely in the balance the filmmaker maintained throughout.
