Race No I
Malaprabha Plate, a handicap race for horses rated 00 – 25, to run over a distance of about 1,400 meters.
Horse no 1 Devil’s Magic is running with horses well below his ability. His first run on demotion to be watched. A race to avoid betting.
Race No II
The Man ‘O War Plate, a terms race for maiden horses, 3 years old only, to be run over a distance of 1,200 meters.
A mediocre set, where horse no 7 Thousand Words, trained by Faraz Arshad and ridden by Arshad Alam, should run into money.
RACE NO III
Shimsha Plate, division II of the handicap race for horses rated 00 – 25, 4 years old and above to run a distance of 1,200 meters.
Horse no 2 Silverita, the daughter of Silverina, should shed her maiden. She should be followed by horse no 11 Southern Power.

Chitrakote Falls Plate, a handicap race for horses rated 20 – 45, to be run over a distance of 1,100 meters.
Horse no 1 Powerful Lady, trained by S.K Sundarji, and ridden by champion jockey S. John, is capable of claiming the honour.
Horse no 3 Golden Vision can pay dividends.
RACE NO V
Brahmaputra Plate, a handicap race for horses rated 20 – 45, 4 years old and to be run over a distance of 1,200 meters.
Horse no 1 Recall Of You, the property of Sportive Owners, Dr. Cyrus S. Poonawala and family is in with a very bright chance.
Horse no 3 Star And Garter, though running a shorter trip, can be fancied for a place.
RACE NO VI
The Kabini Trophy, for maiden horses 3 years old only, to be run over a distance of a mile.
This should be a straight contest between horse no 4 Southern Dynasty and horse no 7 Ruling Goddess.
RACE No VII
The Vijayanagar Cup, handicap race for horses rated 40 – 65, 4 years old and over to be run over a distance of 1,400 meters.
This is an interesting race with few horses equally matched. The four-time winner, Green Channel from the stables of the young trainer, Neil Benedict Devaney, looks capable of keeping the record straight. Horse no 8 Speedster, who ran 1 ½ lengths behind her, has a better advantage of weights today. Horse no 9 Whizzo and horse no 2 Lake Tahoe, both should make their presence felt.
RACE NO VIII
The Hogganikkal Falls Plate, for horses rated 20 – 45, 4 years old and over, to be run over a distance 1,400 meters.
This again, looks like an equal show of talent between horse no 6 Livisilla, and horse no 7 The Sovereign Orb.
RACE NO IX
The Shimsha Plate, division I, for horses rated 00 – 25, 4 years old and over, to run a distance of 1,200 meters.
Horse no 8 Another Rainbow can bring in a surprise in this bunch.

SUBTLE HEART RENDERING COMEDY, SUFFICIENTLY DRAMATIC, GRIPPING CHAOS AND BITTERSWEET HUMOUR; A HIGH END COCKTAIL OF SCINTILLATING ENSEMBLE CAST AND CHARACTERS, WRITER- DIRECTOR CHIDAMBARAM ENDURES ALL STORMS TO DELIVER A WINNER
Ensemble casts have a unique place in Malayalam cinema. For decades, a good family drama in Malayalam has always been a good mix of pain, humour, characters, gripping plots and happy endings. Writer- Director Chidambaram delivers this fine balance in his debut film Jaaneman and creates a new age ensemble cinema for the routine film goer.
SATIRE DRIVEN, NON-MELODRAMATIC, FOCUSED, AND METICULOUSLY SCRIPTED; THIS MOVIE IS A WINNER THROUGH AND THROUGH!
How can one dislike a film that entertains throughout? In english, this movie title means ‘The engagement is on monday’. There is no surprise in the plot line; all of it is revealed in the title. The story is about the making of an engagement and the joys and troubles involved. Senna Hegde pulls off a regular story with exceptional craft. The highlight of the film is its climax. The climax offers no pomp and show, no tearful departures, no melodramatic breakdowns, no revolutions, no rebellions, no glamour, not even the promised engagement. This film is a must watch not because it is extraordinary, but because it is very ordinary, and the brilliance is entirely in the balance the filmmaker maintained throughout.
KURUP, THE MOVIE; DULQUER’S ATTEMPT TO CONQUER CINEMASCOPE FILMMAKING LEAVES AUDIENCES EMOTIONLESS
THIS PERIOD MOVIE COMES WITH COMPLETE GRANDEUR; GRAND SETS, STYLE, A GOOD CAST, LEAVES NO STONE UNTURNED IN PRODUCTION, BUT FAILS IN ITS EDITING AND COMPOSITION. DQ DOES NOT BECOME KURUP, KURUP BECOMES DQ.
Dulquer remains Dulquer, we recognize him and his methods in all his movies and he repeats himself once again. The actor lacks gravitas in his dialogue delivery and intonation. Can style and glamour make up for lack of method acting in a role like this? Did we expect more?
